Swedish spin-off offers graphene-on-SiC

LONDON – Graphensic AB has been formed by researchers Professor Rositza Yakimova, Mikael Syvajarvi and Tihomir Iakimov as a spin-off from the Linkoping University, to commercialize the formation of graphene on hexagonal silicon carbide.

Graphene is a single-layer allotrope of carbon with hexagonally-bonded atoms that has exceptional performance parameters for electronics applications.

Graphensic's technology uses a high temperature process to produce epitaxial graphene on SiC. Graphensic (Linkoping, Sweden) is developing bilayer graphene on silicon carbide, graphene on carbon face and graphene on cubic silicon carbide products.
