At the just-concluded World Information Technology Conference (WCIT), Indian PM Modi believes that "disruptive" technologies such as blockchain and the Internet of Things will have an impact on people's lives and working methods and need to quickly adapt to this innovative technology.
Modi said:
"Disruptive technologies such as blockchain and the Internet of Things will have a profound impact on how we live and work and we have to adapt quickly to these new technologies in our workplaces."
It is reported that the Indian Software and Services Industry Association (NASSCOM) has launched a blockchain technology development platform, but also set up a "special interest group organization" to explore the blockchain technology in the financial and non-financial industry use cases, Educate, and inform the public about this innovative decentralized technology.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, India's Minister of Justice and Minister of Electronic Information Technology, also responded positively to the call by Indian Prime Minister Modi and said:

Last month, the transformation of the National Institute of India (NITI) released a series of blockchain proof-of-concept pilot projects that the government think tank in India announced will apply blockchain technology in a number of industries including education, agriculture and healthcare .
Not only that, the Bank of India - Reserve Bank of India also said blockchain technology is already very mature, will become the basis of the national digital currency rupiah.
