Huawei recognizes Lattice as 'core partner'

LONDON – Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., one of the world's largest suppliers of telecommunications and networking equipment, has recognized FPGA vendor Lattice Semiconductor Corp. (Hillsboro, Ore.) as a "2011 Core Partner."

"We are very proud to receive this recognition from Huawei," said Darin Billerbeck, president and CEO of Lattice, in a statement. "This award represents the partnership and trust that has developed between our two companies."

Lattice said it had won numerous design-ins for its chips at Huawei in 2011 across all of the company's mainstream product lines in both enterprise and wireless networking. Lattice said that as a result its FPGA sales to Huawei "will grow significantly in 2012.

Huawei's revenue in 2011 was reportedly $32 billion, putting it a close second as a supplier of telecommunications and networking equipment behind Ericsson AB with 2011 sales of $34.5 billion. Alcatel-Lucent is in third place with annual sales of about $24 billion.
